My story
My name is Aaron and I am the owner/operator of ‘The Dog Squad Canberra’.
I have always had a great affinity with animals, particularly with dogs. Some of my happiest memories were and still are spending time with my family pets.
Animal welfare is a passion of mine and working with animals has always been my dream. However like many people I inevitably got caught up on the 9 to 5 merry-go-round. To broaden my horizons and get involved in the animal care industry I began volunteering at some of Canberra’s animal shelters including the RSPCA and DAS (Domestic Animal Services).
To gain further knowledge about man’s best friend I decided to hit the books and begin studying (Cert. IV companion animal services) in the field. Through my volunteer work, my studies and my own research I have gained a better understanding of the how and why of dog behaviour. I have learnt the importance of developing rewarding enrichment programs for family pets as well as many useful training tips and techniques.
I now run my own business and ‘The Dog Squad Canberra’ mission statement is to make sure that each pet that comes into my care is as healthy and happy as they can possibly be!
